My Story
I grew up in a place that had a couple fields the were 1200 feet back and 400 feet wide behind us. Further back there was wooded areas going back another 2 or 3 miles to the nearest road. I played in the woods and fields, fished and played in the streams, brooks and ponds in the area. It gave me a deep abiding love of nature that has led to my painting landscapes. There was a pond behind the houses across the street that was a scene from a Currier and Ives post card. I went for walks in the woods across the street when it snowed and heard the Pft Pft Pft of the snowflakes hitting the ground. It was that quiet.
I started painting in 2020 during the Covid 19 outbreak and had to stay home most of the time. The first one on the left was a pond that I walked around 3 times every day at lunch and took a picture because I promised myself that I would paint it some day. I went through 4 sets of paint brushes before finding one I liked. The first set left brush hairs in the painting and I had to repaint the section again the next day. One set was too stiff and another too soft. I finally found a set that worked I have some of my paintings in the artworks section.
